I am not in here much. Don't judge me for that. Networking professionally and searching these platforms for the social fabric that connects me to others is just not something I think to do. And yet, I am a huge proponent of connection - particularly men to men. Today it's what I do. But back in 2016, I'll be the first to admit my complete disconnection from myself, my purpose, and most definitely from other guys. From the outside looking in, things may have looked different - accomplished guy, smart, beautiful wife, three healthy children, blah, blah. But inside, I was dying. My inner critique had set fire to my self-confidence and flushed my values down the drain. I was burnt, addicted, and depressed while acting as though things were fine. Actually, I couldn't see or feel this unraveling. Mel Robbins could see the dark clouds swirling above me, my children were concerned, and close friends were compassionate. But looking back I can now see that these people, despite how much they cared, were too close to offer useful, objective perspective on my situation. I needed to get out of my own way and my own world and get into company with men I could trust, to hear my story and share their own. My subconscious helped me create Soul Degree. This 5 day wilderness retreat for men was born out of my own personal need to get lost, get honest, and get clear on my life. There is no right time to stop your ongoing, external life and focus exclusively on your internal life. Sadly, it seems men rarely think about their own needs before others. Even worse, it seems that us guys have a genetic mutation that keeps us from speaking openly about our needs, desires, and dreams. Not really, but you know what I mean. We just don't always remember to tend to the inner workings of our heart and soul. This is what needs love and attention before we can address the unrest outside of ourselves. If you are still reading this post and any of these words ring a bell, consider joining me and a few other great men in Vermont this June 21-25 or September 20-24. This experience combines digital Zoom sessions with an in-person retreat and follow on support to help you address matters in your life that are most meaningful to YOU. In this sense, it's fully customizable. I only have a few spots remaining. Come on. You deserve this and we would be lucky to have you share your own story. DM me with any questions or curiosities. Cheers, Chris #menshealth #wellnessretreat #wilderness #journeywithin #personalgrowth #soulsearch #love

We all do it, although I'm not sure we're proud of it. The issue is not the behavior associated with it but our lack of awareness about it. It's true, we go through life trying to prove (ourselves, our worth, etc) and hide (our fears, insecurities, etc.). Not sure this is a pattern that can ever be extinguished, but taking a bit more notice of it. This can be a game changer - especially in business. #proving #hiding #beinghuman #beingboss #awareness
