Dr. Christopher Romero is an accomplished professional with a combined MD/PhD degree from The University of Texas Medical Branch, where his research focused on immuno-modulation and its therapeutic potential for sepsis.

During his tenure at UTMB, Dr. Romero received prestigious awards for his work in Immunology and Vaccine related research, including the McLaughlin Fellowship and the Blocker Scholar Award.

He furthered his expertise by completing the Intensive Course in Tropical and Travel Medicine and pursued his Internal Medicine Residency at Scripps Green Hospital in California.

In his medical career, Dr. Romero has shown dedication to underserved communities, particularly in the Rio Grande Valley, where he has treated diseases like Zika, Chikungunya, and Hansen's Disease.

His passion for education was evident through his teaching awards, and he later transitioned to an administrative role at Valley Baptist Medical Center, where he played a crucial part in the hospital's response to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Dr. Romero is currently the Medical Director for USA Operations at PanAmerican Clinical Research, overseeing multiple clinical trials with a focus on novel therapeutics for COVID-19 and advocating for increased research participation opportunities for the Hispanic population along the Texas-Mexico border region.

He has been recognized for his contributions to the medical field by being appointed to the steering committee of The Multi-Regional Clinical Trials Center of Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard, and holds memberships in various medical organizations like SACNAS and the American College of Physicians.
