Professor of Pediatrics and Basic Sciences at Loma Linda University

Christopher Wilson is a well-experienced professional with over 25 years of expertise in in vivo and in vitro animal models, specializing in electrophysiology, microscopy, and calcium-imaging. His work primarily focuses on the generation and modulation of respiratory rhythm using techniques such as whole-cell patch clamp and extracellular single-unit recording to study neuron properties related to breathing rhythm. He is skilled in custom analysis software development using various programs like Igor Pro, Kaleidagraph, ImageJ, R/S-Plus, and Python.

Christopher Wilson pursued his academic journey by obtaining a Ph.D. in Physiology/Neurophysiology from the University of California, Davis. Earlier, he completed his B.A. in Human Biology, Chemistry, and Russian Language at California State University-Sacramento.

Throughout his career, Christopher has held significant roles at prestigious institutions. Currently, he serves as a Professor of Pediatrics and Basic Sciences at Loma Linda University. Notably, he has also been an Associate Professor at Loma Linda University and Case Western Reserve University. His academic journey includes positions as faculty at University Hospitals of Cleveland and as a Post-doctoral Fellow at NIH. Earlier in his career, he gained experience as a laboratory technician at Sacramento Medical Foundation Blood Bank.
