Do you think only your DevOps team should worry about Google's Core Web Vitals, but not us Marketers?

Think again.

I admit coming from B2B SaaS start-ups, with relatively low search and traffic volumes, it's not something I paid much attention to.

Then I joined Blue Triangle and my eyes were opened, especially when I saw how critical CWVs are for our customers. And not just the DevOps teams, but everyone involved in delivering frictionless digital experiences.

Core Web Vitals are Google's objective benchmarks for measuring user experience, focusing on loading time, interactivity, and visual stability.

These metrics are not just about technical standards—they directly impact how users interact with and perceive your brand, based on how good—or how bad—their experience is with your digital properties.

In fact, Google uses CWV as ranking signals, meaning that better CWV can lead to higher search rankings, increased visibility, and more organic traffic.

Three ways CWV's impact us Marketers:

✨ Bounce Rates and User Engagement: CWVs directly affect user experience by measuring loading time, interactivity, and visual stability. Poor metrics increase bounce rates and lower engagement.

✨ CRO: Optimizing CWV enhances conversion rates by reducing friction, leading to faster load times, smoother interactions, and higher revenue.

✨ Customer Loyalty: A fast, responsive, and stable site boosts satisfaction, encourages repeat visits, and enhances loyalty and advocacy, driving long-term growth.

Hmmmm...fewer bounces, more conversions and greater customer loyalty? Sounds like key marketing metrics and objectives to me.

Check out the blog post for 4 more reasons why you should focus on Core Web Vitals and perspective from one of my and Nick Paladino's guests on The Frictionless Experience podcast.

Oh, and turns out our CWVs sucked after our big website update at the beginning of last year. So we made it a priority and saw huge improvements. I'll share that story and data in a future post.
