Chuying Huo

Chuying Huo is a student researcher and activist from Canada with a passion for mental health and girls' education.4 She is currently a high school student (class of 2024) at London Central Secondary School in London, Ontario, Canada.3

In the summer of 2023, Chuying worked as a research intern with Harvard STRIPED (Strategic Training Initiative for the Prevention of Eating Disorders). During her internship, she created an app that displays inequities in the geographic accessibility of eating disorder treatment centers across North America. The app showcases varying supply and demand based on the number of treatment centers in an area and population density at block group levels.1

Chuying's work has gained recognition, as she was named a Teen Titan by Forbes, being among 13 young people making an outsized positive impact. This recognition was specifically for her research on eating disorders.5

She has also been affiliated with the Center for Geographic Analysis at Harvard University as a CGA Affiliate from November 2021 to June 2023.2 Currently, Chuying is involved with the UN Girls' Education Initiative (UNGEI)4, further demonstrating her commitment to education and social issues.
