Claire Travers

Humanitarian MEAL specialist. Market-aligned programmes and supply chains in emergencies

Claire Travers is a specialist in Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) within humanitarian response, focusing on supply chains and market-aligned implementation. She is currently conducting research on the impact of COVID-19 on Humanitarian Supply Chains, supported by the SCS-Engineering X grant from the Royal Academy of Engineering and Lloyd's Register. Claire has extensive experience working in various humanitarian contexts including Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Bangladesh, Pacific Islands, Jordan, Malawi, West Africa, Nepal, and Madagascar. She is multilingual, fluent in French, German, English, and Malagasy. Claire holds dual Master's degrees in International Humanitarian Action from Uppsala University and in Humanitarian Analysis and Intervention Design from the University of Groningen. She also pursued a Visiting Scholarship at SIPA, Columbia University, and completed a PG IP from Warsaw University. Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Philosophy and History of Ideas from Cardiff University.
