Highlights
I left Schlumberger (now SLB) fifteen years ago yesterday, after 26+ years (in two installments) that taught me a whole lot and put me in contact with great people, some of whom have remained lifelong friends, while others became customers of my consulting practice.
The transition from the corporate to the consulting world was less hard than I had expected, because I immediately turned my energy toward my new mission and very soon toward my first clients, so I didn't give myself time for separation anxiety or sadness. My last day at Schlumberger was May 31, 2009, and my company was registered on June 2 (what? I wasted a day?)
While I may have slowed down a little (and redirected some of my time to nonprofit activities, especially alumni associations and standards committees), this journey is not over yet. I may not know how to develop a large language model or use SPARQL, but I still know a few useful things about enterprise architecture, process modeling, knowledge management, online communities, cloud strategies, and more; and I am still eager to share those insights with whomever is willing to listen.
My heartfelt thanks to all those who have been part of this journey, to those who will continue to be, and to my partner in life, whom few of you know but who has now been supporting me for almost 41 years!
Expert in customer success and "post-sales enablement"?
A member of a consultants' network I belong to is seeking an expert in "customer success and post-sales enablement" (if you don't know what that means, then you're probably not the right person ;-) ). He has an opportunity to bring a team into a couple of Fortune 500 clients, and is looking for an additional expert to add to the team, someone with availability and willingness to be a subcontractor to his company. Candidates should have at least 5 years of experience. Please reply to me privately if you want to be introduced.
