A few weeks ago, I brought my ~6 year Uber adventure to an end. Here's the note I wrote to my Uber colleagues:
Hi Uber family -
After nearly six years, two cross-country moves, eight teams, >50,000 emails and driver tickets, hundreds of phabs and queries, countless memories and giving a little blood, sweat and a few tears, I've decided to take the next step in my career (outside of Uber) - my last day will be November 1st.
When I came to Uber, I had no idea how truly life changing (both professionally and personally) the next 6 years of my life would be and that is in large part due to you. You are receiving this email because you've played an important role and had a positive impact on my life and I'll be forever grateful for the memories, learnings and fun we had together so I simply want to say thank you.
For what's next, Emily, Cam and I will be staying in Chicago and I'll be staying within the tech startup scene but with a decent amount of time spent in San Francisco. As such, I'd really love to stay in touch so whether you're in SF or Chicago, please don't be a stranger.
Cheers, Clay
Specifically, I've taken a Marketplace Ops Role at Scoop, an early stage B2B2C startup to help bring carpooling to every company and employee in the US.
Here's to new adventures :)
While I’m not sure when this cycle of printing endless amounts of money catches up with the world but I’m pretty sure it will and it won’t be pretty for anyone when it does
