Bhairav Mehta and I hit the road this last month (San Diego, Dallas, Austin) and met some incredible marketing leaders who took a chance on a random Linkedin outreach to talk about marketing & AI and meet some of their peers in their city!

Our only goal was to listen to what was keeping these demand gen and marketing operations leaders up at night.

Couple of takeaways ✍ :

•Everyone is trying build a rich strategy based on understanding the voice of the customer, but then struggle with limitations in execution. For example, we build a rich ICP, but then are limited by simple firmographic data (e.g. revenue, industry, title) when we want to build a list of target accounts.

•Many leaders felt that their messaging was too jargony, superficial, and “inside-out”. We all value subject-matter experts at our companies, the ones who have been “on the other side”, but they can’t come to every sales meeting or help write every campaign asset.

•Third party intent data was a hot topic! Everyone recognizes the need to find “in-market” buyers, but they recognize the limitations (superficial/lack of true signal). It’s not a silver bullet.

Bhairav Mehta and I have been busy building solutions in these areas over the last few months and I'm excited to share some progress over the next few months, but in the meantime, thank you to everyone to getting out of the office to connect and share your thoughts and have some fun! @ Sabrina Gallier, Irina Jordan, Jennifer Turner, Matt Trifiro, Jigar Shah, Lindy Singer, Dave Jenkins, Eric Griffing
