Highlights
When I first started out as a learning consultant and facilitator over 13 years ago, I was lucky enough to get to work with someone who had been facilitating for many years (that wonderful person was Mary Langan), and who told me (on reading my first content draft of my first ever two-day training session) it wasn't all about me...!
I had designed about 180 slides that were a brain dump of everything I knew on the topic we were delivering. It was going to be the longest keynote in history, and not remotely in the audience's context. She advised me to rewrite it, and put myself in the shoes of the audience - What is their context? What do they need to be able to do with this information? How will they do it? Do they know it already, but they've never acted on it? etc. Splendid advice (Thanks Mary).
Context has been a guiding principle for me ever since, and is for Cognitive Union too.
We recently covered the importance of context in our recent email newsletter, and were lucky enough to have contributions from the brilliant Akvile Darulyte, Andy Lancaster & Palo Kaur Dale (big thanks) which we simply didn't have space to fit in... so this latest blog post is a chance to share a little more.

🇯🇵This week my wonderful colleague, Karen Hague and some of our amazing team are in Yokohama! 🇯🇵
They have been busy curating and facilitating a "Town Hall Forum" for leaders at one of our global CPG clients as part of their Global Summit.
