Highlights
During this week, I had the privilege of moderating a panel featuring Jesse Rhodes and Lori Lee. Our discussion centered around unleashing growth and ownership in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) at Amazon. We delved into the strategies that organizations can adopt to empower individuals and foster positive transformations. From this experience, I gained several valuable insights and leadership lessons. Here are a few that stood out:
- Establishing a well-defined purpose and securing team buy-in, regardless of the team's size.
- Allowing everyone the opportunity to express their thoughts fully before engaging in discussions.
- Recognizing that DEI is a continuous journey rather than a one-time event, necessitating collective efforts to reshape the culture.
- Embracing the basics of human interaction in daily conversations, going beyond surface-level inquiries like "How are you?" and truly engaging with others to learn and demonstrate curiosity.
Ultimately, thanks Candi Castleberry for empowering, equipping us with tools and strategies to drive transformative changes and propel Amazon toward becoming a beacon of inclusivity on a global scale.
I extend my gratitude to Tran Pham, MBA for her diligent work in orchestrating this impactful gathering. Looking forward to the next panel and the opportunities it will bring.
