Highlights
Been too busy to post this since our whirlwind end to summer programming on the Lewis Avenue Open Streets and a successful launch of "Destination Nostrand" (arterial Nostrand Avenue's first true street closure in collective memory!), but I’m happy to share that I’ve started a new position as the Commercial Revitalization Program Manager at Bridge Street Development Corporation. It's been a big pivot out of real estate PR over these last three years, but I'm beyond excited to announce I'll be leading the Commercial District Needs Assessment for Crown Heights, Brooklyn -- an in-depth commercial revitalization study part and parcel with a $300,000 Avenue NYC grant I helped write for BSDC this past spring. The list of people I have to thank is too long to post here, but iykyk who you are and I'll never be able to fully express my gratitude for everything you've taught me along the way. Mostly though I'm thankful for my mom, who talked about economic development at the dinner table every night for 18+ years -- even when we weren't listening. I'm just as incorrigible.
As we wrap up #nationalmentoringmonth, I just wanted to take a second to highlight the words of a few members of my wonderful Pacific Community Ventures (PCV) Business Advising team. Every person here works directly with hundreds of entrepreneurs across the country each day, so you can bet your last buck that what they have to say about the importance of mentoring is true.
