Corine Frischknecht

Scientific advisor

Corine Frischknecht is an accomplished scientific coordinator of university short trainings with a rich background in physics of the Earth, seismic risk assessment, GIS, and remote sensing.

As a seasoned lecturer, she imparts knowledge at various academic levels, including Bachelor, postgraduate, and further education, focusing on topics like seismic risk assessment, GIS, remote sensing for hazard and risk assessment, and disasters related to natural phenomena.

Her research interests lie in earthquakes, specifically seismic site effects, and remote sensing techniques like radar interferometry.

Corine holds a PhD in Earth Sciences from the University of Geneva and has also completed a certificate in GIS from Certificat de Géomatique, UNIGE.

She has held key roles in prestigious organizations, serving as a Scientific Advisor at the Unit of Geological Risk within the Section of Earth and Environmental Sciences.

Previously, Corine contributed significantly as the Co-coordinator for CAS in disaster management at CERAH - Geneva Centre for Education and Research in Humanitarian Action.

She has also been actively involved as a Lecturer and coordinator at CERAH, along with being a Researcher at the University of Geneva.
