Courtland Allen

Founder of Indie Hackers

Courtland Allen is the CEO and founder of Indie Hackers, an online community designed for independent entrepreneurs to share insights and support one another. He launched Indie Hackers in July 2016 after recognizing a need for a platform where entrepreneurs could openly discuss their experiences and revenue numbers, fostering a culture of transparency and collaboration among members.13

Allen is a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and a Y Combinator alum. Before founding Indie Hackers, he worked in various roles as a software engineer and co-founder of several startups. His journey includes significant experience in web development and design, which has contributed to the growth and functionality of the Indie Hackers platform.25

In April 2023, Allen and his brother Channing Allen reacquired Indie Hackers from Stripe, the financial technology company that had previously purchased it in 2017. Under their leadership, the community has expanded to over 60,000 members and continues to thrive as a resource for aspiring and established entrepreneurs alike.34

I love seeing posts like this. I was a Grandmaster Starcraft 2 player for a while, and I still enjoy watching @Artosis cast Brood War games.
