I'm not the first to point this out, but it bears repeating. Content - primary copy, micro-copy (descriptions, help text, alt text, tool tips) - needs to be a central focus of your product/website design. If you are hiring a design shop, ask if they have a content designer and/or a UX writer on the team. They should be driving discovery and supporting the rest of the design team in advocating for accessibility and good research.

If I could go back in time I would add a content designer to every digital project I've ever worked on.

Thanks, the Mgmt

The more "boring" the UX work is, the more it is probably helping people do things that matter to their lives.
