Dear friends For most of us, the people behind the masks are not just healthcare workers. They are loved ones & friends. They are essential for reasons far beyond their medical expertise & their lives are in danger due to a severe lack of personal protective equipment. Every day they risk their lives to save ours. Healthcare workers in ERs & ICUs in NYC, the global epicenter of this pandemic, are at the highest risk of exposure & have the greatest need for PPE. We have all seen news briefings about the federal government's efforts to provide PPE, but the reality is that the aid provided by the federal government is insufficient & far too slow to reach the front lines. Many of these brave individuals have resorted to wearing trash bags & homemade masks in an attempt to protect themselves. For this reason, I have partnered with a few friends, one of whom is a doctor facing the brutal reality of this pandemic on a daily basis, to raise funds to purchase N95 masks directly from the CDC/FDA approved suppliers list. Every donation, no matter how small, will contribute to saving a life.
