I'm excited to rejoin the aviation community at the Airports Council International - North America ACI Annual event starting next weekend! Don’t miss the must-attend panel on ESG in the air transportation sector, where I’ll be joined by airport executives and ESG leaders. We’ll dive into the groundbreaking ESG White Paper and disclosure guidance from ACI-NA, and explore what it really takes to build strong ESG reporting in airports. While airports have robust reporting on the environmental front (as well as the projects and initiatives to show for it), the social and governance areas present new challenges as well as opportunities to showcase what airports are already doing! Join us and bring your toughest questions!

Reporting climate-related information is one of the most challenging aspects of ESG disclosure for many organizations, particularly in disclosing the resilience of the organization's strategy and business model under various climate scenarios and stressors, and associated risks and opportunities.🏢🌍 The International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), the standards body within the IFRS Foundation, just published a consultation document with eight examples proposed as an exposure draft to seek comment. The effort aims to help companies disclose climate-related uncertainties, improve transparency, and strengthen the link between financial statements and sustainability disclosures. The examples focus on materiality judgments, assumptions, estimation uncertainties, and information disaggregation. By providing clarity on what good looks like, this effort could help companies better communicate how climate-related uncertainties affect their financial position and performance. This is not meant as a copy/paste! But this latest effort by the IASB should be highly valuable, as they set out to provide best practice examples reporting on climate-related uncertainties in financial statements.💼🌿
