Highlights
One of the aid workers killed in Gaza was Jacob Flickinger, a Canadian and a CAF veteran, who volunteered with World Central Kitchen.
From the bios I am seeing online, in his short life he epitomized a life of service to others.
In a time when individualism and self absorption dominate the headlines, we owe a debt of gratitude to people who strive to make the world a better place.
He had been in Gaza just a few weeks when he was killed. There is a verified GO Fund Me set up to support his young family.

Bit surreal - I finished packing up my office today.
I'm leaving MEDA to join CARE USA as Director of Operational Security. My fifteen years at MEDA have been amazing, but I've wanted to move into humanitarian response security for a while now.
CARE is a larger organization than MEDA with a more diverse portfolio, so more opportunities to learn, grow and have impact. They have a stellar security team, and I'll be working alongside some of the best in the sector.
While I know this transition is what I need to do, MEDA's people have been a big part of my life. I'll miss them deeply. But, I am also very excited about this next chapter!
And so, onwards.
