Highlights
I can see benefits to remote and in office work. I think a hybrid model might be best going forward, allowing for some in person collaboration but also reducing the amount of time spent commuting. The last 18 months shows that the work can be done remotely so workers should have an option. While there are cases where in person collaboration is preferable to remote, it isn’t really required to get work done. As we are in a global workforce we are seeing less dependence on the in office work. For the managers that want people in the office they will need to be flexible in allowing at least some remote work or they may have a hard time with employee retention and hiring.
This is a great point. Even in tech, where people skills can be rare, hiring people with the right personality for the team and customers, be it internal or external, is just as important as finding someone with the skills for the positions. Skills can be taught, personality traits are much harder to learn on the job.
