Dan Spethmann is a passionate advocate for Working Lands Soil & Water (WL/S&W) and is involved in a project to establish a B-Corporation focused on regenerating agricultural soils for improved yield, quality, and health. His work also emphasizes the role of soil regeneration in carbon sequestration to reduce CO2 emissions.

With a Doctor of Liberal Studies in Environmental Ethics from Georgetown University, a Ph.D. in Natural Resource Economics from Stephen F. Austin State University, and a Master of Science in Forestry from the University of Wisconsin Madison, Dan Spethmann possesses a strong educational background in environmentally related fields.

Throughout his career, Dan has held key roles such as Managing Partner at Working Lands Investment Partners, LLC, Interim CEO/President at Applied Ecological Services, Inc., Manager of Investment Programs at New Forests, Inc., and Manager of Non-Timber Resources at Temple-Inland. These positions have allowed him to contribute significantly to sustainable land management and ecological restoration initiatives.
