Highlights
Last week, Governor JB Pritzker signed HB 4875 into law, a landmark bill that protects artists from unauthorized AI-generated replicas of their likeness and voice—a crucial win for artists’ rights in Illinois. This victory comes just in time for the 2024 Democratic National Convention Committee to spotlight our city!
Proud to have testified for this bill and thrilled to see Illinois leading the charge. As I say in the official announcement, “This law ensures that as technology advances, it does so with respect for our rights and our very essence as creators.” A big thank you to The Recording Academy, Mary Edly-Allen, Jennifer Gong-Gershowitz, Jeffrey Becker, Matt Glavin, and all who championed this cause.
