Daniel Bertschi is currently the Principal Manager and Head of JAPAC PreSales at HubSpot, based in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. He has had a diverse career, initially working as a professional classical musician, serving as the Principal Timpanist with the RTE Concert Orchestra in Ireland. In 2014, he transitioned into the technology sector, joining HubSpot, where he has held various roles over the years, including Senior Manager and Manager of PreSales across the Asia-Pacific region.
Bertschi's educational background includes an MSc in Computer Science and an MA in Music, both with First Class Honours. His career at HubSpot began in Dublin, followed by a move to Sydney, and since January 2021, he has been working remotely from Tasmania. He leads the Technical PreSales teams across Asia-Pacific, overseeing operations in Japan, Singapore, and Australia.1

Incredibly, yesterday I reached my 10 year anniversary at HubSpot. There is so much to be grateful for. I still cannot quite believe that they took a chance on an ex-classical musician who had been unemployed for a few months beforehand. Thank you to all of you who helped me along the way. This is a special role: HubSpot is looking for our first-ever PreSales Solutions Architect to be based in Australia. As such, it presents a very exciting opportunity to help HubSpot grow its upmarket customer base in ANZ. We certainly haven't figured out everything yet, so if you're a seasoned PreSales professional (based in Sydney) who is comfortable dealing with ambiguity and who enjoys building something, we would love to hear from you. In your new role, you would work very closely with our other PreSales roles based in Australia (SEs, Sales Specialists, Internal SEs & Service Consultants). You would join a team of SEs & SAs spanning across all of Asia-Pacific, incl. your fabulous Japanese counterpart Naoto Yamaura and you would become part of our global internal network of Solutions Architects.
