Student at Georgia Institute of Technology

Daniel McGrail is a researcher who completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology.12 He received his undergraduate degree in 2012 and his graduate degree in 2015.12 During his time at Georgia Tech, McGrail studied the role of cell biomechanics in cancer and tissue regeneration.1

After completing his studies at Georgia Tech, McGrail went on to do a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Systems Biology at MD Anderson Cancer Center, where he focused on integrating computational and experimental approaches to study cancer biology.1 In February 2022, he joined the Center for Immunotherapy and Precision Immuno-oncology at Cleveland Clinic as an Assistant Staff member.12

Currently, Dr. McGrail leads a research lab at Cleveland Clinic that integrates systems-level analyses with controlled experimental models to advance precision medicine in oncology and other human diseases.1 His research interests include immune checkpoint blockade sensitivity, DNA damage response, functional genomics, and biomarker discovery.1
