Daniel Reid

Executive Director at Whiting Foundation

Daniel Reid was the Executive Director of the Whiting Foundation from November 2013 until August 2024.32 He led the foundation for about a decade, during which he revitalized its programs and operations.4 Under his leadership, Whiting launched multiple new programs dedicated to literature, the humanities, and education.4 Reid also developed Whiting's first international program to support the preservation of endangered cultural heritage.4

In August 2024, Reid left the Whiting Foundation to join the Getty Foundation as Associate Director.14 In his new role, he will oversee local, national, and international grantmaking and manage programmatic operations at Getty.1
