I follow HackerPulse, and I found this update very interesting in the same newsletter:
Boeing just lost billions because of $9/hour engineers 🤯 .
And Amazon is going to work to replace coders with AI 🙀 .
I am fully behind AI, and Amazon has an excellent track record for implementing phenomenal secure infrastructure. The warning for others is that this is more challenging than it seems. Having AI take over your coding will require significant #governance. This is an opportunity for #venture to build tools to support the next generation of #softwareengineers in managing a massive amount of code.
However, a non-governing AI that builds code as fast as possible may be more of an $8/hour engineer.

Like others, I love new tech, and my inner nerd has seen so many fascinating developments in AI this last year. I love the hackathons we throw at GenLab Venture Studio, and I love the energy, community, and #innovation. GenLab will always support the entrepreneurial spirit, which should never die.
GenLab, as a #VentureStudio, has to be very careful. A brilliant, innovative idea has to have a market to sell into. Startups must get to PMF and revenue as fast as possible in our current economy.
The investor landscape has changed, and driving real revenue, not just growth, is paramount.
GenLab will always look to a solid business case first, and once established, develop, partner with, and acquire world-class technology for that #businessmodel. We will work with our entire community to help advise and teach how to build sustainable businesses in Generative AI. However, there are no shortcuts; building a business comes after you have found the revenue model to apply the technology.
After reading this article, I don’t think the hype about AI is waning. It will demand a solid business to support it, and that takes time, regardless of how much AI you throw at it.
As a founder, it took me years to figure out how to build a profitable and sustainable business. Building free cash flow takes grit and determination, and sustainable free cash flow is even harder.
Classical business principles, which have stood the test of time, will always create a great structure for success. They provide a solid foundation that we can all rely on as we navigate the ever-changing landscape of AI and entrepreneurship.
