I do believe that the number one element preventing people from success is their inability to go ALL IN on whatever it is they’re doing

Success comes with trade offs. Full stop.

If you’re trying to have work life balance in your early days, it is naïve to expect an irregular outcome. Stress needs to be an enhancer, not an inhibitor.

Few people are actually willing to make these sacrifices and go all in.

The few who do reap the rewards, but have to make amends with the trade offs that were sacrificed along the way.

Have the self awareness to know where you stand.

Small moments have the potential to change your life forever, in both positive and negative ways.

For me, there have been a series of small moments which didn’t seem to be monumental at the time and ended up having huge implications on my life and career

To list two of the most impactful ones in my early days….

I was 19 years old in the accelerated dental program at Ramapo College. During winter break of my sophomore year of college, I saw a friend at the gym I went to in my home town. In between sets, we said hi and caught up on each other’s lives for a few minutes. He told me something that blew my mind: He was making $45 a week on his phone.

-This brief moment was the single reason that I am currently not a dentist today. After finding out that making money on my cell phone was a plausible reality, I made a twitter account in the parking lot of the gym directly after with the goal of making enough money to buy beers on the weekend and do so on my time.

-In 2014, I learned that affiliate marketing was a really effective way to monetize my then substantial following across my network of twitter accounts. I decided to create a platform that brought various affiliate offers to publishers on twitter. It was wildly successful out of the gate. In December of 2014, I went to my first Affiliate Marketing conference (ASW). At the age of 21, going to Vegas for the first time and experiencing every night (for free) with companies spending $70,000+ a night on entertaining me, it was quite the experience to say the least ! One night, after the club, while being beyond intoxicated, I decided to play black jack at the high rollers table before heading to my hotel room. There was one other guy at the table, and after some talking we found out that we were both in Vegas for the same reason, which was this affiliate marketing conference. He told me about his company, called Instant Checkmate, and a new offering they had called Reverse Phone Lookup. I thought it was interesting and could potentially work well on social media. Once I got back home, I signed the legal paperwork to work with this company, and after printing out the 100 pages of the contract at my college’s library, we got to work!

-Fast forward 6 months later, and this offering had made me multiple millions of dollars in profit, while still being in college. The success from this offering is what gave me the confidence to forego dental school.

💣 Right place, right time on both instances but the key factor was that I took action when I saw opportunity. It is amazing to me how many people have these incredible ideas, or inspiration and take no action.

I have many more examples of how small events led to large outcomes throughout my life, but my main takeaway from it is how important it is to live life in the present moment, and with an open mind.
