I was thrilled to attend last night's discussion with futurist and sci-fi titan Kim Stanley Robinson hosted at the Kroc School at the University of San Diego. Robinson discussed navigating the tightrope of the climate crisis with "existential dread" on one side and "cruel optimism" on the other. Where do you stand in this balance right now?
Also fascinated to watch such a deft author leverage his strengths in a lecture/interview forum. Zero slides, just immense creative capacity to connect with an audience through stories, even of #data. So many lessons it's worth a listen, and of course I strongly recommend reading The Ministry for the Future! (Hat tip to Marlene Tyner-Valencourt for the recommendation!) https://lnkd.in/gnDtbdJw
Immensely proud to share another slice of the stories of success, curiosity, and growth from Theta Tau -- highlighting our #engineering service, our commitment to diversity, and STEM outreach from high schools to TikTok. Thank you especially to Sarah Mente from my #volunteer Infrastructure team and all contributors including Raven Smith, Brianne Pirkins, Jim Gaffney, and Dan McConnell! #thankyou
