Daniela Domeisen

Assistant Professor at ETH Zurich

Daniela Domeisen is a Professor in Atmospheric Sciences, currently serving as an Associate Professor at the University of Lausanne since August 2021.14 Prior to this, she was an Assistant Professor at ETH Zurich from August 2017.1 Her research focuses on atmospheric predictability, including dynamics and predictability of the atmosphere from local to global scales, and from days to centuries.3

Domeisen's work emphasizes:

  1. Global remote connections in the climate system
  2. Predictability on subseasonal-to-seasonal (S2S) timescales
  3. Impact analysis of atmospheric phenomena

She has made significant contributions to understanding how the stratosphere influences extreme weather events2 and has received recognition for her work, including the Dandelion Award 2023 for promoting entrepreneurship at ETH Zurich.3

Domeisen has also held positions at GEOMAR Helmholtz-Zentrum für Ozeanforschung Kiel, Marex Spectron, University of Hamburg, and Cornell University.1 Her research has been widely cited, with over 4,500 citations on Google Scholar.5
