Much has been said about the millennials being the burnout generation, yet little is known about the individual journeys of recovery and navigating potential career shifts that follow.

I wanted to share my experience of taking an extended time off from work to start a conversation and learn others’ stories and effective coping methods during these uncertain times. This article covers how this period brought me many paradigm shifts and the urgency to reassess life priorities. The key themes explored include:

  • Using this as an opportunity for personal growth and self-discovery
  • Reconnecting with core values and aspirations
  • Potential for exploring new career options
  • Dissociating personal identity from professional roles
  • Embrace change

If an aspect of my journey resonates with you or you are an organization advocating for the redefinition of success, productivity, and happiness in today’s world, I would love to connect!

After 6.5 years, my chapter at WeWork came to an end last month and when looking back I couldn’t be more grateful for having the opportunity to help expand such an amazing product across Latin America. Helping WeWork to grow from 0 to +90 buildings and thousands of members in 7 countries and 14 cities, was truly remarkable and the memories and learnings will be ones I’ll carry with me everywhere I go. I have only words of appreciation for sharing this ride which such extraordinary people with whom we set a new standard for how a workspace could be in the region.

What’s next? I’m not sure yet! I’m taking some time off to think about my next step but when I reflect on my time there I can’t stop thinking about those very early days when we didn’t have anything but an impossible goal to achieve. Those days with Eduardo Molina, Pepe Villatoro, Diego Kuri, Jaime Orvañanos Lascurain, and Fernanda Loza Marquez Ruiz, where we teamed up to overcome any challenge while wearing a thousand hats at the same time were some of the most rewarding for me. That’s why I joined the Latitud Explore Fellowship to learn everything related to creating your own startup and hearing from their amazing community about the next ideas that will shape the tech ecosystem in the years to come in Latin America.

I’m interested in challenges that involve the intersection between real-life experiences and digital products and I'm a firm believer that the best businesses are those with the customer at the center of any strategy. I’m also looking to connect with companies that are developing a Customer Experience & Retention strategy or that are planning of expanding rapidly across Latin America. If you have ideas about these topics or think my experience could help you develop your own strategy, I’d love for us to connect!
