Danielle Bennett

PhD Student, Queer & Public Historian

Danielle Bennett is a graduate student who holds a MA in Museum Studies & History from Tufts University and is currently pursuing a PhD in American History at The Graduate Center, City University of New York.

Her thesis titled 'Dwelling in Possibility: Queering Historic House Museums' focuses on creating diverse interpretations of US history, queerness and the archive, memory and perception, and community-building through museums.

With a keen interest in public history, Danielle has professional experience in various roles including Freelance Researcher/Writer at Amy Kaufman Creative Planning, Curatorial Intern at New-York Historical Society, Teaching Assistant at Tufts University, and Visitor Services Associate/Social Media Manager at Alice Austen House Museum.

She has also worked in technical and customer support roles at Twilio Inc., as well as held positions in grassroots media coordination and political organization.

Danielle Bennett's academic background and extensive experience in the museum and history field position her as a knowledgeable and skilled professional in the realm of public history and museum studies.
