Danielle Miyagishima is a 7th year MD-PhD student at Yale University, specializing in Genetics under the mentorship of Dr. Murat Gunel. Her research focuses on utilizing genomics and epigenomics to understand transcription factor regulation in response to pharmacological therapies, particularly in treatment-refractile brain tumors. She is also interested in integrating cell-signaling mechanics into brain-machine interface development. Her thesis work involves studying receptor signaling networks in meningioma biology using machine learning approaches. Danielle is passionate about contributing to the COVID-19 vaccine rollout and co-founded the non-profit organization S-PHASEC Crisis Response to promote vaccine equity through grassroots communication campaigns.

Moreover, Danielle is actively involved in the Yale community, co-founding the Yale Neurosurgery Interest Group and the Cushing Society. She has served on Diversity and Inclusion Committees and as a mentor for Yale College students. Danielle has a rich educational background, studying Biochemistry at New Mexico State University and pursuing an MD-PhD in Genetics at Yale. She has also held various roles in different organizations such as Nucleate Bio, American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Clinton Global Initiative, InGenius Prep, and more, showcasing her diverse experiences in research, education, and leadership.
