Freemium will kill you.
Seriously, if you launch a product with a freemium part, it will kill you. Freemium will get more than 90% of your users on its side, and together, they will do everything against your future. A vocal majority of freemium users will attack your customer support and your development team, mainly with features only they want. The noise from these users is much louder than the signal from the few percent of users who pay, support, and really value what you are doing.
If you like what you are doing, if you care about the future, your users and most importantly your team, you should close the freemium part and just sell your product.
It was the hardest decision I have made as a CEO, and it was the best one.
