Highlights
Many of you may have seen that I decided to leave Boston Beer after six great years. With tremendous plans lined up for 2024, the company is poised for growth, and now is the right time for me to move on. I’ve been very fortunate to be connected to the company since I joined the Board of Directors in May 2005 and have greatly enjoyed adding whatever value I could to build our people capabilities and improve our growth prospects over the years, whether as a board member only or later as the CEO.
I have zero regrets when I reflect on how I’ve been able to create the impact I wanted in my career while staying true to my beliefs in community, authenticity and integrity. I agree strongly with author David Brooks when he says “the essential moral skill is being considerate to others in the complex circumstances of everyday life. Morality is about how we interact with each other minute by minute.” Business allows us to do that every single day.
I am so grateful for all the people I’ve been fortunate to interact and work with over the last 35 years of my career. I am especially grateful for the talented, committed and passionate people of Boston Beer who have taught me much about leadership – and myself – over the past six years. And of course to all the wonderful people at Pepsi, who always will remain my “first love.” Thank you all!
