Highlights
The ego has been demonized. This misunderstanding has bread shame, pain, and violence.
Let's stop doing this.
Our ego is built to make sure our human bodies stay safe and alive.
That's a friend.
That's a treasure.
Does it always know what's in our best interest?
Nope.
Does that mean we should ignore, villainize, and attribute everything about ourselves that we don't like to it?
Also nope.
When we learn to relate with love and compassion to our ego, we learn that it's actually a brilliant strategist that's figured out how to give us what we need based on the ways we weren't loved or supported growing up.
How cool is that?
The problem is that when those strategies don't work for us as adults, we shame ourselves (and others) for operating from ego.
Ego is a wonderful ally, if not the best leader when we choose growth.
Listen to what it wants you to do, and you will learn where your fears were born and what makes you feel unsafe.
That's valuable information no matter what your goals are.
Accepting these truths about ourselves means we can operate with presence and self-awareness.
How would that be for you?
In the process of becoming an adult and a coach, I’ve worked with a lot of different tools, practices, and practitioners to help me get to where I want to be in my life (I’m not there yet!).
The people that remind me of who I am and of the power within me to create the life I want to lead are so important to me.
The guides that don’t tell me the answers, but do help me realign and recalibrate to my vision have helped me perceive and act from my power, from loving curiosity, even during the most challenging moments of my life.
I want to enjoy the journey of getting to where I’m going, mainly because my dreams are huge!
I want to write more books, help millions of people love themselves more courageously, father children that won’t inherit generational traumas, and so much more.
AND, I want to enjoy the entire process.
I want to be as present and awake as I can be for every possible second of moving toward, failing at, and achieving these goals.
Loving and staying present to the journey is my goal.
That’s also why I coach and why I need my coaches.
They have been INVALUABLE on my journey.
It is sacred work when trauma-informed, performed with love, and offered in integrity.
If this is resonating with you, I would love to work with you. Book a call. Let’s connect.
