Whether you love 'em or hate 'em, Facebook sure does know how to monetize its users. Their ARPU (avg. revenue per user) has grown 8X since 2011 and is now even higher than that of Netflix. https://lnkd.in/gD_wBm3 #monetization #digitalmarketing

Product people: I'd love to know your thoughts on one of the most interesting product introductions I've seen in a while. I love parts of this concept, but I'm pretty sure I hate a lot of it too. It's a mini-phone that is designed to supplement your regular phone -- the whole "disconnect from your tech" is clearly more and more on people's minds. But the feature set is kooky, and the reuse of the Palm brand is disappointing to the exact people who might otherwise be very receptive to it (I have such fondness for that old brand but this is truly a Palm in name only). I'm just not sure how it would fit into people's REAL everyday living habits (which device should I bring to this activity, or this one, or this one, etc.). Is your phone like a wallet, where you own only one that is attached to you at all times, or is it like a handbag, which is more of a fashion accessory and we might own several to cover different occasions? It sure would be fun to try using one, though -- it reminds me of the little teeny boats that store inside great big boats, and exist just to ferry people to and from the shore. Ultimately I'm not convinced the demand is there for this new "phone for your phone" category, but I'll be watching this effort closely.
