Getting Down with CrowdStrike . Some thoughts on downtime at scale! Root cause analysis demands answers to the 5 whys . The following is easier to write now in the aftermath of the event. I appologize for this.

An onsite lab? Back in the day, we have an onsite lab to vet most large changes within the enterprise. It doesn't take like to click the button and check the impact to test machines. Does anyone do this anymore? Do we just point the finger at a vendor?

Choose a small segment (Push to the support department first) Before releasing to the entire enterprise and where you don't have a lab, why not push the new release or patch to the support department! They're equipped to at least manage the impact/outcome of a bad release.

Chose that day carefully (Friday NO!) I remember releasing new code for an app with hundreds of thousands of daily actives. The slightest inefficiency in the source immediately shows up and impacts performance. YOU NEVER release on Thursday or Friday unless you really like working over the weekend. The coder that committed that code is not invited to Friday night drinks.

Just finished a visit to AWS Summit at Javits Center. Amazon technology and cloud offering backs so many products in the space. The technology is moving fast to further refine results with data inflows. The use cases in healthcare healthtech included a demo of collaborative clinical trial development.
