Announcing a BIG FIRST: Faraday Microgrids received final approvals for the first renewable energy Microgrid interconnected to and configured for support of critical power at an acute care hospital in California and, perhaps, the Nation. The Healthcare Access and Information agency (California’s regulatory agency for healthcare buildings) issued final permits for the Microgrid at the Kaiser Permanente facility in Ontario, California this week. The system is anticipated to be commissioned in June 2023 and is expected to support all or nearly all critical loads for 10 hours+ during grid outages as well as time-shift solar energy and shave peak loads for unprecedented savings. Congratulations to all participants- Faraday Microgrids (EPC/owner), Kaiser Permanente (host site), Mazzetti (lead design/engineering), PeakPower (installer), Bloom Energy (fuel cell), DC Energy Services (M&V), and California Energy Commission (grant funder). #renewableenergy #energy #healthcare #engineering #power #hospital #microgrids #ira #resiliency #sustainability #carbonfootprint #commercialenergy #cututilitycost
