Many of you are wrestling with how to deploy language models in your orgs. I wanted to share some lessons from a new academic paper and from our experience working with dozens of companies to integrate these tools effectively.
The paper reveals common pitfalls, such as relying on junior staff who may lack strategic perspective, and failing to address senior leaders' concerns about risks to accuracy and explainability.
We want to help you avoid these mistakes! Our 'PROMPT Mindset' emphasises a different and more rounded approach - that goes beyond prompts to cultivate great usage, equipping teams at all levels with the skills and frameworks to effectively use language models.
To learn more about the research findings and how the PROMPT Mindset can help you navigate the AI journey with confidence, read the full blog post on our website. Link in the comments. Or reach out for a chat. We'd love to help!
A hot topic I’d love everyone’s perspectives on:
If AI substitutes and weakens a person’s skill, is that necessarily bad … or could it be good because it frees their brain / focus / attention for higher-level tasks?
I believe the latter, making AI clearly beneficial. If you believe the former, then it makes sense to worry about AI as being harmful. Many seem to.
I have a powerful personal analogy: I didn’t learn my times tables as a kid because I knew I could always use a calculator. Yeah, that was dumb in many ways. I’m rubbish at it to this day. My kids are much better than me! …
… But I have a degree in theoretical mathematics and I help some of the world’s largest companies use data science. So did skipping something everyone said was a critical skill hurt me … or free my brain to focus on bigger things?
