David Chao's educational background includes an MBA in Multinational Management from The Wharton School, an MA in International Relations (East Asia) from The Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA (Hons) in Economics & Management from the University of Oxford.

Throughout his career, David Chao has held key roles in several reputable organizations, such as Chief Marketing Officer at Alation, Vice President of Marketing at Datadog, Vice President and Head of Marketing (later acquired by Datadog) at Sqreen, Vice President and Head of Product Marketing at MuleSoft, Senior Director of Industry and Solutions Marketing at MuleSoft, and as a Lecturer at The Wharton School.

Prior to these roles, David Chao also served as Director of Industry Marketing, Senior Manager of Product Management at MuleSoft, Management Consultant at McKinsey & Company, Operations Manager at WTW, and Product Manager at Acturis Limited.
