Highlights
I had a blast moderating the “Scouting Success: The Evolution of A&R” panel at Canadian Music Week.
A special thank you to my colleagues; Christopher Martin, Guillaume Moffet, Mishelle Pack, and Nathan Stein for sharing their experiences and wisdom. My goal was to demystify the role of A&R and ensure people understand that A&R looks different with each individual and company.
I believe the expectations and responsibilities of A&R are often generalized, but we discussed how this depends on the strengths of the individuals and the companies they work for.
Thank you, Canadian Music Week, for the opportunity, and thank you to everyone for engaging in the discussion and contributing to a more nuanced understanding of A&R!
Looking forward Canadian Music Week and checking out some enlighting conversations this week. I’ll be moderating panel with some colleagues asking questions about how they are discovering and using technology in their role of A&R. Lots has changed since my days of working with Universal and looking for amazing artists that I was excited about. I'm interested in hearing how everyone navigates today's complex digital highway.
