Highlights
I am not a vocal person in online settings…for better or worse, it's just not my style. Even more so, I always try to publicly avoid discussing politics, and other polarizing topics…bc they are well…polarizing.
That being said, I believe what is happening now on US college campuses is objectively a demonstration of failed leadership, and it is impacting most those actively seeking education and guidance
I experienced this first-hand when my UCLA alumni conference this weekend was cancelled last minute due to concerns of the ongoing activities on campus. This is a reunion for a school and institution that I overwhelmingly associate with pride and fond memories. To instead know that the campus of UCLA that is not only beautiful, but also "global" and "welcoming" — is now a place riddled with gated encampments, red graffiti, and gas masks — and more importantly, no longer a place that is "open" and safe for students and alumni — is truly disheartening
This is not about UCLA. Across America, student classes are being cancelled, graduation ceremonies to celebrate milestone achievements are being disrupted — all of that money parents have spent their life savings on for their children's education — all of that debt that students have taken on (that continues to cripple our economy) — all for what?
Free speech? Is this what the First Amendment intended? It doesn't look like it. It doesn't sound like it. It looks & sounds like hate speech, it looks & sounds like inciting to violence…it looks & sounds like American Jewry that support Israel and its right to a homeland (let alone Israelis studying here in the US) are no longer welcome on campus, can no longer attend classes or study in the library without fear for their safety
What happened to schools serving as a safe community setting where diversity and independent thinking are both fostered and encouraged? Are we doing our best to educate our student body on both sides of the conflict? Are we encouraging dialogue vs intimidation?
For the schools and institutions who pride themselves on a longstanding legacy of educating our next-generation of leaders — I learned early in my UCLA tenure that the gold standard of leadership was exhibited by Ernest Shackleton — who among many heroic actions, helped others feel safe among & best navigate unchartered territory. A particular global cause catching such virality — one that causes such disruption, incites such fear, and encourages its participants to hide their faces when doing so — is also an unchartered territory, and the next-generation, now more than ever, need help in its understanding and ultimately its navigation
No legacies stand forever — and we're at a critical moment in time — I hope that US education and its leadership immediately step up to properly navigate these unchartered territories for themselves, and for the next-generation they are responsible to lead & educate in a community setting that is both welcoming & safe for all

I am thrilled to announce that I have recently joined the partnership of Hanaco Ventures.
It is an honor to work alongside such talented and innovative individuals, including my partners Lior Prosor, Alon Lifshitz, and Pasha Romanovski. This would not have been possible without their support and I am grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the Hanaco team and our wonderful portfolio companies every day.
Onwards and upwards 🚀
