David Friedman

Professor

David D. Friedman is a Professor of Law at Santa Clara University, where he taught from 2005 to 2017 and is now Professor Emeritus.23 He is a widely published scholar with expertise in economic analysis of law, computers, crime, privacy, and other legal systems.1

Friedman received his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Chicago and his B.S. magna cum laude from Harvard University.12 Despite never taking formal classes in economics or law, he has authored several books on these subjects, including "The Machinery of Freedom," "Price Theory: An Intermediate Text," and "Law's Order: What Economics Has to Do with Law and Why It Matters".4
