David Friedman
CEO at High Performing Culture
David J. Friedman is the Founder and CEO of CultureWise (formerly known as High Performing Culture), a company he established in July 2014.1 He is an experienced business leader, author, and speaker who specializes in helping organizations create high-performance cultures.
Friedman's career began in the 1980s when he served as President of RSI, an award-winning employee benefits firm in the Philadelphia area. Under his leadership, RSI grew to become one of the largest independently-owned agencies in the country, winning multiple awards for leadership, customer service, and being named one of the Best Places to Work in the region seven times.2
In 2011, Friedman published his first book, "Fundamentally Different," which explains how to create a high-performance culture.12 He has since written two more books: "Culture by Design" in 2018 and its second edition in 2021, which address the challenges of building strong organizational cultures, including in remote work environments.23
As a speaker and consultant, Friedman has led more than 600 workshops, taught over 7,500 CEOs, and worked with numerous organizations across the country.2 His approach to culture-building is based on a collection of 30 behaviors he developed and implemented successfully at RSI, known as the RSI Fundamentals.2
