Enterprise Delivery of Digital Transformation and Process Improvement - RPA, Intelligent Automation, Workflow.

David Friedman is the Head of Intelligent Automation CoE at Ryder System, Inc. He is a seasoned professional with 25 years of experience in IT management, continuous improvement efforts, and product ownership.1

Friedman earned his MBA from the University of Southern California and has a track record of delivering significant cost-saving initiatives. At American Express, he led large-scale product evolutions and was appointed as the RPA lead for back-office and new accounts processing divisions. His efforts there resulted in over $30 million in cumulative savings and revenue generation through process redesign and RPA.1

In 2018, Friedman joined Ryder System to establish their internal RPA capability. He set up a Center of Excellence (COE) and governance across IT and operations groups. Under his leadership, the Ryder team has identified opportunities across all major departments and delivered 40 process automations centrally, with over 200 launched by federated RPA teams across the enterprise.1

Friedman's focus is on using RPA as a key step toward fully digitizing legacy operations. He believes that optimizing and automating internal front-office and back-office processes is crucial for building digital self-service and proactive-servicing capabilities.1

Outside of work, Friedman conducts research on the long-term macroeconomic impacts of digitization and automation on middle-income and middle-skilled workers in modern economies.1
