David Hadka is a senior software engineer at Microsoft in the Cloud and Enterprise Group, focusing on building Azure DevOps. Prior to this role, he served as an Associate Research Engineer at The Pennsylvania State University Applied Research Laboratory, contributing to government research projects for DARPA, NASA, and others. During his Ph.D. studies at Penn State University, he co-developed the Borg Multiobjective Evolutionary Algorithm (MOEA) with Dr. Patrick Reed, a groundbreaking solution for complex real-world optimization challenges. This algorithm is recognized for its exceptional scalability, capable of operating efficiently on high-performance computers with extensive cores. David actively collaborates with research groups at Cornell and Penn State, under the guidance of esteemed professionals like Dr. Reed, Dr. Keller, and Dr. Lynch. Apart from his academic pursuits, Dr. Hadka manages and contributes to numerous open-source initiatives, particularly focusing on optimization, robust decision making, and sensitivity analysis. His notable contributions include the MOEA Framework, a popular Java library for multiobjective evolutionary algorithms, and involvement in Python libraries such as Platypus, Rhodium, and SALib.
