David Hang

David Hang is the Chief Operating Officer of US Wind, joining the company in October 2021.12 He has nearly 25 years of experience in the private equity and renewable energy industries.1 Prior to his role at US Wind, Hang held positions at the private equity groups of J.P. Morgan and the D. E. Shaw group.1

While at D. E. Shaw group, Hang was responsible for the investment in Deepwater Wind, where he served as a Board Member and CFO.1 He played a crucial role in the contracting and financing of the Block Island Wind Farm, which was the first offshore wind farm in the United States.1

After the sale of Deepwater Wind to Orsted, Hang became the President of Orsted's U.S. Offshore Wind business until December 2019, overseeing all US offshore wind development activities.1

Hang's educational background includes a B.S. in Commerce with Distinction from the University of Virginia.1 He currently serves on several corporate and non-profit boards, including the boards of the Dorado Beach Resort, a portfolio of the Metro Development Group, Delta Biofuel, and Choate Rosemary Hall.1
