A moment of reflection and appreciation for the way DoorDash and Wavemaker showed up this past weekend at the Sundance Institute Festival. DoorDash activates a lot within key cultural moments, but this felt special for a variety of reasons --
1/ The team found a way to do a lot with a little in a short amount of time -- pushed what was possible and activated both inside, outside, and got prime real estate along Main. The FIRST of its kind for any brand at Sundance. 2/ Not only was the activation fun (and creative with a little Wes Anderson inspo), but brought real value to festival goers' pain points -- creating a concierge experience for DashPass members for all their weekend essential needs, snacks at key move screenings, unlocking sold-out reservations and movie tickets, and partnering with other sponsors like Audible and Adobe for added value. While ensuring everything was measurable. We were EVERYWHERE. 3/ Generate real buzz and excitement -- organic Reddit threads, hearing "DoorDash" everywhere we went, last-minute press, people wanting photos with our activation, and branded items carried by festival goers solidified us as a "not miss". There was never not a line to get in from open to close.
All this to say, get yourself a team like Lauren Schrimmer, Alisha Sahay, Maggie Jones, Lucas Vaughan, Rob Hersey and many more for creating something special in an insanely short timeline, bringing real value and engagement with a key audience, and doing it all under every constraint possible.
