Highlights
I’m beyond frustrated
Yesterday Matt Stahlin the CEO of Flat River Group threatened me on linkedin for saying that I received games from them
He claims they never sent me the 10 plus boardgames they sent me when I have the emails, direct messages, and games blatantly proving otherwise
And he’s threatening legal action against me for disclosing that they sent me games?!??
It’s required by the FTC to disclose when you get products for free and are making content with said products
I spoke with the FTC directly and they told me this behavior is "deceptive marketing at best, and potentially influencer fraud" if they are doing it with other game reviewers.
I was told to try and resolve the situation with the company directly first, and I emailed multiple employees and sent numerous messages that went unanswered. I was told to keep copies of my messages because the government may use that as evidence of malicious intent.
I still hope this can be resolved
I love many of the games they sent and have posted hundreds of times about them linking to my amazon affiliate store
It's absolutely disappointing when you've been nothing but positive about a brand and promoted them and then THEY threaten me and claim they never sent the games?
I sent numerous emails to The CEO of Flat River Group Matt Stahlin who has viewed my linkedin account about their company not being compliant about FTC with influencers, their brand has purposely blocked me and is refusing to disclose their material connection with me despite sending tons of games and having a contract where they are paying me money to promote their games.
By refusing to resolve this situation via email, and if they're unwilling to contact me and resolve this, I'll have no choice but to report their brand to the FTC and file criminal charges on Matt Stahlin and other complicit employees who may be breaking the law when it comes to influencer marketing.
