My mentor Bonnie Addario would regularly say, "if it is good for patients we have an obligation to do it" and it has been a guiding mantra for much of my career. I am so proud and humble to have that work, done only through the blessing of amazing partners and teams, recognized by PM360. https://lnkd.in/ezppj9m4
I am immensely proud to share this new video resource for people recently diagnosed with lung cancer. This under 30-minute video takes viewers through the initial steps of a lung cancer diagnosis and outlines, as simply as possible, some of the terms and information they may encounter. For example, what is the difference between small cell and non-small cell lung cancer? Who are the medical specialists that may be included on their multidisciplinary care team? What is a multidisciplinary care team? I have been thinking about a resource like this one for a long time – both as someone who has worked in the lung cancer space for over a decade and as someone who has felt first-hand the helplessness of trying to navigate the complexities and emotions of a close family member’s cancer diagnosis. There is a wealth of resources available to patients with lung cancer and this one does not replace them. My hope is that this video will empower newly diagnosed patients with the knowledge to navigate the lung cancer landscape and the confidence to ask questions about their own care along the way. You can watch the full-length video here [https://lnkd.in/euXTWg52] and view it in chapters here [https://lnkd.in/e-b-xQCc]. Please share with anyone you think may benefit from this information. [The Lung Cancer Patient Navigation Video was produced through the Lung Ambition Alliance and funded by AstraZeneca.]
