David Li

David Li is an accomplished individual who has made significant contributions to the world of open source software since 1990. He is actively involved in various organizations and initiatives that promote innovation and collaboration within the tech community.

David's extensive experience includes being a member of the Free Software Foundation, a committer to Apache projects, and a board director of ObjectWeb. He has a track record of initiating and participating in numerous open source software projects over the past two decades.

In 2010, David co-founded XinCheJian, the first hackerspace in China dedicated to fostering hacker/maker culture and open source hardware. The following year, he co-founded Hacked Matter, a leading think tank focusing on makers and open innovation.

Apart from his software endeavors, David has a keen interest in urban farming. He advocates for aquaponics, a sustainable farming method that embodies the collaborative and transparent nature of open source principles. In 2015, he established Maker Collider, a platform that drives innovation in the Internet of Things (IoT) space through community collaboration.

David Li's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Southern California and an MBA in Business from the USC Marshall School of Business. He has leveraged his formal education to excel in both technical and business aspects of the industry.
